| Patrol Cruiser Mark Bridgeman The Patrol Cruiser is commonly seen in and around the safer regions of the Imperium protecting shipping lanes and conducting custom's inspections and other general patrol duties. It is typically equipped with a 30 Ton ship's boat and a G-Carrier (not included in the price) in order to promote maximum versatility, such as assisting craft in distress and performing rescue duties to hence the crew detail of 1 commander, 2 bridge crew, 4 gunners, 1 medic and 3 engineers in addition to a squad of 8 Marines plus the marine commander (counts as command crew). The command crew have a large stateroom each, whilst other crew, navy and marines have to double up in the small staterooms, as this is a tight design. This craft is Paramilitary as opposed to a true military design and is not designed to stand up to extreme levels of combat, though interestingly this design's electronic systems have been hardened to resist radiation damage so that if need be it can utilise its high M-Drive and J-Drive combinations in service as a fleet courier or Merchant convoy escort. The Type T is quick, lightly armed with a combination of missiles, and beam weaponry, sufficient to make criminal types think twice about running a blockade or refusing a boarding inspection. It's large power plant produces sufficient excess energy that additional weaponry can be installed if desired (though at the expense of agility) and indeed many of these craft are being up-gunned for service in the increasingly lawless Lishun Sector, as it is vital that the corridor between Vland and Sylea remain open if the Imperium is to achieve its aim of reclaiming known space. Governments allied to the Imperium or indeed Licensed Imperial Mercenary units are able to purchase the Type T, along with some Imperial corporations who have uses for them, as the design has been declassified some time ago, not so its successor the T2 Patrol Cruiser Class: Patrol Cruiser Type T Ep Output: 27 Tech Level: 12 Agility: 2 Size: (Medium 400 Tons) Initiative: 2 Streamlining: Streamlined AC: 12 Jump Range: 1 x Jump 3 Repulsors: None Acceleration 4G Thruster Nuclear Dampers: None Fuel 187.0 Tons (Liquid Hydrogen) Meson Screens: None Duration: 4 weeks Black Globes: None Crew: 20 AR: 0 Staterooms: 2 SI: 145 Small Cabins: 9 Main Computer: Model 3 Fib Bunks: none Sensor Range: Medium (model 3) Couches: none Comm. Patrol Cruiser Type T2 Externally Identical to the Type T, this craft sacrifices agility, some cargo capacity and the ability to carry sub craft to improve weaponry, electronics and hence become a much more capable warship, many existing type t's are being converted to this specification by refitting at Imperial Yards, though new vessels destined for service as frontline escorts, cruisers and fleet couriers are being built from the keel up as the new improved T2. The T2 itself is merely a stopgap solution to a very serious problem of how to protect merchant shipping from pirates, raiders and privateers loyal to other interstellar governments and hence licensed to attack Imperial shipping. It is rumoured that a brand new class of fighting ship is currently being designed to meet these needs.
