Worlds of the Rebin Empire Mark Bridgeman Office of the Imperial Interstellar Scout Service This report has been compiled from the survey/flight logs of the IISS 'Forever Deep' and supported by the expert analysis/testimony provided by the personal logs of crewmembers aboard in addition to commentary provided by Scout Team leader Cynthia Gallicise, who was forced to assume command when the designated mission commander (James Randolph) ran into serious difficulties in Rebin Space. The Rebin Empire is a small interstellar polity located in the Keum subsector of the former first Imperium Massilia Sector, the capitol of which is located at Ande (star catalogue designation 0312. Keum subsector is located directly rim-ward of the old Hub/Ershur subsector (a former administrative centre for the Rule of Man, due to its central location). The 'empire' consists of 6 worlds all of which have strong internal ties and a homogenous culture, in addition to briskly trading with many surrounding allied independent worlds nominally considered to be client governments of the empire. The 6 member worlds of the Rebin Empire are detailed below, the updated intelligence and information has been compiled and cross referenced against First Imperium records by the crew of the 'Forever Deep' who for their own safety operated clandestinely both within and near this far flung area of space. It is rumoured that the powerful matriarchy of Rebin dates back allegedly to the waning days of the Old Earth Union. Males constitute a servant class and do not marry into permanent families. Children are raised and educated by female governesses until age 8, at this point the boys are transferred to the men's barracks to be trained/schooled for their future duties. Science, art and administration are entirely in the hands of women. Men are generally not literate beyond the basic needs of most labourers. Three of the five colony worlds have vacuum environments with populations under domes and underground. One world has an ellipsoid atmosphere, breathable only in the colder latitudes and the fifth requires filter masks. Despite these harsh conditions, the colony worlds hold the bulk of the empire's population restricting the pleasant garden world of Ande (the capitol of the empire) to the estates of the ruling nobles and their servants. "Male traders and visitors find the matriarchs difficult to deal with hence I would recommended that females are sent when dealing with the inhabitants of this empire, any female regardless of species is considered superior to a male" IISS Team Leader Cynthia Gallicise |
