Ergo 0314 A200766-E
Mark Bridgeman

The world of ergo is a small vacuum body orbiting a major gas-giant called 'Filbus'. Ergo's population live in deep underground cities as protection from the immense levels of radiation experienced twice yearly (local year) as Ergo intersects the gigantic radiation belts that surround filbus. The belt is composed of charged high energy particles expelled from the systems distant primary star 'Bremmer Haven' (F6D) and held in place by the immense magnetic field generated by 'Filbus' (a gas giant so large that it could almost be a brown dwarf).

Its population whilst strictly controlled have relative freedom when compared to the rest of the empire and answer to a moderate colonial government that tacitly declare the colony to be a haven of scientific research and development.

It's top of the range shipyard is a Fleet Control Arm research and development platform, and heavily guarded though it will manufacture civilian designs up to 1000 tons displacement if you've got the wealth (see notes on Rebin currency). On the whole Rebin ships tends to be on a par with current imperial designs, though some aspects of the research conducted on Ergo might well be well in advance of anything the Imperium could muster.

"Rumours abound about particle Accelerator barbettes and high yield fusion reactors, and experimental hulls made from 'bonded ultra-dense, whatever that is…"

IISS Team Leader Cynthia Gallicise.

Rebin media control ensures that this system is seen as low key and relatively unimportant, the official line being that research is conducted there, but mostly its medical research…

"All I know is that there must be some serious 'research' going on to justify a separate colony of some estimated 20,000,000 based in an inhospitable vacuum environment"

IISS Myelin Haustman, Forever Deep's Engineering Officer.

Most traffic in this system tend to be high speed lighters skimming fuel to support the many and various fusion plants needed to support such as technologically reliant society. Other vessels in system are often independent merchants from beyond the Rebin borders in addition to the gigantic Transport Guild Carriers (see notes below) shipping in agricultural produce and other foodstuffs in system.
