There are no male nobles in the Rebin Empire and males are not allowed to progress to positions of high authority or equivalent officer rank (commissions serve as an additional enlisted promotion). In direct contrast to this all females begin their careers as Officers or the civilian equivalent.

E.g. a male going into a medical career could never qualify as a doctor but could be a medic, nurse or orderly etc, likewise a male entering the Navy Career could go all the way to the top from deck hand to chief petty officer etc, though could never be an ensign.

A male industrial worker could progress to all supervisor levels though not management.

Male Only Professions

• Navy (Fleet Control Arm) - All Enlisted Ranks
• Army (Planetary Control Arm) - All Enlisted Ranks
• Marines (Special Shipboard services) - All Enlisted ranks
• Professional (Bureaucrat/Diplomat/Administrator/Field Scientists etc) enlisted only
• Merchants (Transport Guild) - All enlisted Ranks
• Academic - No Academic decorations possible (medical personnel restricted to nurses/orderlies or trauma medics/paramedics etc)
• Mercenary - there are no native mercenary units in Rebin space, males could join a transient unit passing through though provided they are prepared never to come back.
• Scouts (Fleet Control Arm/ Active Wing/Fleet Intelligence) - No ranks, males exist as support personnel only not operatives that are all female. Hence males can be mechanics, admin assistants, gravitic technicians etc.
• Traveller (as per mercenary, males can have this class if they can somehow leave the empire)

Female Only Professions

• Noble (there are no male nobles in the Rebin Empire)
• Merchant (Transport Guild) - All officer ranks
• Professional (Bureaucrat/Diplomat/Administrator/Field Scientists etc) Commissioned only
• Scientists (academics) - all awards open (medical personnel are automatically considered doctors/surgeons etc)
• Navy (Fleet Control Arm) - All Officer Ranks
• Army (Planetary Control Arm) - All Officer Ranks
• Scouts (Fleet Control Arm/ Active Wing/Fleet Intelligence) - No ranks though all operatives are female.
• Marines (Special Shipboard services) - All officer ranks
• R.B.S. Journalist
• Medical - Doctors, surgeons, specialists etc.

Both sexes

• Criminals of all types (Rogues, pirates etc)
• Law Enforcement (Planetary Control Arm) as per tables above (males enlisted only).
• Ace Pilot
• Hunter
• Entertainers
• Barbarians do not exist in the Rebin Empire as all citizens are considered civilised.
