This gunboat used by the Rebin Empire, represents the pinnacle of their technology, a true tech 14 thoroughbred, designed as a fighter to be carried by Rebin carriers or as an adjunct to system defences etc.

This craft is versatile, well armed and heavily defended by thick bonded super-dense armour and incredibly agile and nimble, making it difficult to hit in combat. It is theorised that a flotilla or fighter wing of such small craft could easily overwhelm larger targets and deal out devastating damage to them. It has good sensor and comm. ranges, supported by a powerful computer and electronic systems, hardened against radiation damage.

Rebin ships are stark and utilitarian in appearance, showing a very definite Solomani influence in their design. The close structure hull configuration is generally the hull of choice for Rebin Naval Architects who favour its ease of build.

Design Philosophy

The ultimate evolution of the high speed, high tech interceptor/gunboat, can be used as a fighter aboard larger craft or most commonly in Rebin territory as a supplement to System Defence Crafts.

Primary aspects of this design are its high speed, thick armour plating and the particle accelerator barbette, ideal to intimidate most merchants and keep raiders at bay.

This design is above the technological norm found in Rebin space and still classified as an 'x' project, namely the 'X-11' and now undergoing the final stage of its trials, hence the Rebin Admiralty are keen to see how this craft performs as an in system escort or carried fighter.

Its primary draw back is its lack of cargo and crew space, making it less useful for rescue operations, and as such cannot fulfil all of the roles that a traditional system defence boat could.
